Motorcyclist seriously injured when struck by car on bridge

A motorcyclist was transported to a hospital with major injuries after a collision with a vehicle on the Scott Road 215 Freeway bridge Friday morning, police said.

The identity of the motorcyclist, a 45-year-old Menifee resident, was not released by Sheriff's Department officials. No other details on the biker's condition have been released. The motorcycle was struck in the intersection of Scott Road and the northbound freeway on-ramp about 5:14 a.m. when a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Mauricio Felix of Perris (left) ran a red light, according to a news release.

Felix was arrested and booked for felony DUI. Scott Road was closed for several hours at that point during the investigation.
