Here's an update from Laurie Harper on Curt Mayer, the motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries July 12 when he was hit on Scott Road by a man accused of DUI:
"Update on Curt. Many people have been asking, so here’s what we know. Curt is awake today and talking. He has another surgery on his femur today. The doctors are working diligently to save his leg. He will need multiple surgeries and physical therapy for a very long time. He is still in ICU. That is a miracle in itself.
"Although Curt is my former son-in-law, he is still my son. Curt is a heavy equipment operator and loved his job. He was also an avid dirt bike rider, taking my grandson Tyler riding all season long. It is still unknown if the drunk driver that ran a red light, and hit Curt, has insurance. He was arrested at the accident site
"Curt’s wife is self employed, adding to the financial stress. She has not left Curt’s side, and has been unable to work. For those that have donated, be assured it is making a difference. Please share this post as appropriate. And, thank you from the family for any assistance you can offer."
