Menifee City Council member Lesa Sobek joined local resident Wayne Rogers Monday at the light pole where World War II fallen Army soldier Vincent Rogers Jr. was honored with a city military banner. Wayne is a cousin of Vincent, who died in 1944 in a plane crash on an island in the Pacific. His body was recently recovered and he was buried in Riverside National Cemetery.

The banner is located on Menifee Road near Coastline Avenue.

Vincent trained at March Air Field before deploying 75 years ago. His remains were only recently recovered and identified. You can read his story in our article here.
