Motorcyclist who died in freeway accident is identified

The County Coroner has identified the motorcyclist who died in an accident involving a semi truck on the southbound 215 Freeway north of Menifee on Saturday.

Aaron Barton, 28, of Murrieta died at the scene of the accident in the southbound lanes of the freeway north of Ethanac Road. The accident was reported just before 8 p.m., according to a CHP report. The driver of the semi truck was treated at the scene and released, according to Cal Fire officials.

The southbound lanes of the freeway were closed, with traffic diverted at Highway 74. One lane was opened about 9:30 p.m.
