Sheriff's deputies seized 22 pounds of processed marijuana, a loaded firearm and a large amount of cash during the check of a vehicle parked at a Menifee business on June 26, authorities said.
Deputies assigned to the Special Enforcement Team were conducting proactive patrol in the 27000 block of Encanto Drive, north of McCall Boulevard, at 1 p.m. when they contacted the occupants of a parked vehicle, according to a news release. A check revealed that one of the occupants had an outstanding warrant.
After discovery of the marijuana, firearm and cash inside the vehicle, Nathanial Edward Harms, 46, of Twentynine Palms was arrested and booked for being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm and transportation of marijuana. According to jail records, Harms is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail and is facing eight charges, including those previously mentioned and DUI.
