Man arrested for lewd acts with female minor at Menifee Park

A Menifee man was arrested Thursday for a June 13 incident in which deputies allegedly found him engaged in lewd acts with a female juvenile at a park in the Heritage Lake community in Menifee.

Jacob Manuel Sanchez, 20, was in a parked vehicle with the female minor at 2:30 a.m. June 13 at Discovery Park, located on Calm Horizon Drive next to Ethan A. Chase Middle School. Deputies patrolling the area reported that the couple was engaged in lewd acts. An investigation determined that the act was criminal in nature because of the victim's age, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.

The girl's age was not released.

Sheriff's Department officials determined that Sanchez met the juvenile through social media, where he identified himself as being under the age of 18. He was arrested on charges of lewd acts with a minor and annoying or molesting a child. He was booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta and released on $5,000 bail while awaiting an Aug. 16 court date, according to jail records.
