Pedestrian struck, killed on 215 Freeway near Scott Road

A man walking in northbound lanes of the 215 Freeway was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night, authorities said.

Several motorists reported the pedestrian walking on the freeway just south of Scott Road about 11:15 p.m., according to a CHP news release. Shortly thereafter, witnesses reported that the man had been struck. The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian stayed on scene and cooperated with officers. The investigation is ongoing.
