Passenger dies in rollover crash; driver booked for DUI

A Hemet woman died as a result of injuries suffered in a single-vehicle accident at 4:28 Sunday morning on Domenigoni Road east of Lindenberger Road on the eastern border of Menifee, authorities said.

According to a Sheriff's Department news release, preliminary investigation showed that the driver fell asleep and the vehicle struck the center median. The vehicle rolled over and the female, who was seated in the back seat and unrestrained, was ejected, said Sheriff's Deputy Robyn Flores. She was pronounced dead a few hours later at a local hospital. The deceased was identified Monday as Cindy Oropeza-Soto, 25.

The driver, 23-year-old David Rostrosolis of Hemet, was not injured but was found to be under the influence of alcohol, authorities said. He was arrested and booked for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. He has a March 26 court date in Murrieta.

An adult male passenger refused medical attention. Domenigoni was closed for several hours during the investigation.
