Denver honored; Liesemeyer, Deines sworn in at council

John Denver, a member of the Menifee City Council for its entire 10 years, was honored upon his retirement at the council meeting Wednesday night.

Several local and regional dignitaries made presentations to Denver, who was on the city's incorporation committee before being elected to the first City Council in 2008. He is the only person to sit on the city council all 10 years.

Dean Deines was sworn in as the new District 4 City Council member. Deines defeated Gloria Sanchez in the race to replace Denver. Matt Liesemeyer, who ran unopposed in District 2, was sworn in for a second term.
