Applications sought for city commissions, committees

The City of Menifee is accepting applications to fill vacancies in the Planning Commission, Senior Advisory Committee and Parks, Recreation and Trails Commission.

The Planning Commission reviews specific land use projects and acts on zoning ordinances and conditional use permit requests. The commission meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Commissioners may also be required to attend workshops or special meetings held at other times.

There is one vacant seat on the position, which will run concurrent with the term of the appointing council member, Matt Liesemeyer, ending in 2022.

There is also one vacancy on the Parks, Recreation and Trails Commission, which is responsible for advising city staff and the City Council regarding maintenance and operations of the city's parks. The term of that office will run concurrent with the term of the appointing council member, Dean Deines, ending in 2022.

There are two openings on the Senior Advisory Committee, which serves in an advisory capacity to city staff and the City Council on issues pertaining Menifee seniors. Applicants must be age 55 or older. The term is for two years. Applications will be accepted until Jan. 9.

Applications for the two commissions will be accepted until the positions are filled. To apply, download the applications located on the city's website, www.cityofmenifee.us, and submit it to the Clerk's office at City Hall, 29714 Haun Road.
