A Menifee boy suffered major head trauma and other injuries Tuesday afternoon when his vehicle rolled over on a dirt road just outside the city limits, authorities said.

The 17-year-old boy, whose identity was not released, was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer eastbound on Holland Road, just east of Briggs Road, at an undetermined speed about 3 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the road and rolled over several times, according to a CHP news release. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.

The accident is under investigation. No update on the boy's condition has been released.
