Body of adult male discovered in field near Murrieta Road

Officials have not yet released the identity of an adult male found dead in an open field near the intersection of Murrieta Road and Thornton Avenue in Menifee on Tuesday.

Sheriff's deputies responded at about 11 a.m. to the location after a neighbor discovered the body near a block wall that separates a housing tract from an open field south of Thornton Avenue and west of Murrieta Road, said Deputy Murray on site. The body was removed about 2 p.m.

According to Deputy Robyn Flores, it is being classified as an unattended death. There is no sign of criminal activity. No other information has been released.
