Body in field near Murrieta Road identified as Menifee man

The family of a Menifee man missing for nine days has announced that he was the adult male found deceased in a field near Murrieta Road Tuesday morning.

The County Coroner has not publicized the name, but a family member confirmed to Menifee 24/7 that the body was that of Rick Flasco, 64, who had been missing since Oct. 14. Deborah Hutchinson, Flasco's sister-in-law, also announced on Facebook that the Coroner informed the family earlier this week that the deceased was Flasco.

The body was discovered by a local resident Tuesday morning under a tree and near a brick wall separating an open field from a housing tract west of the intersection of Murrieta Road and Thornton Avenue in Menifee. Sheriff's Deputy Robyn Flores said this was considered an "unattended death" and that there was no evidence of foul play.

Hutchinson reported in an earlier Facebook post that Flasco had walked away from his Sun City residence without his wallet and phone on Oct. 14. A search began at that time and social media messages were posted, asking for information about his whereabouts.
