No injuries, structure damage from fire behind Menifee home

Firefighters extinguished a grass fire on the back lot of a residence in the 31300 block of Geary Street in Menifee, near Murrieta Road and Corson.

There was no damage to structures and no injuries related to the fire, which was reported at 5:12 p.m. The lot is located in a rural neighborhood with several large back lots.

The homeowner said he heard some loud bangs but was not aware of a fire until alerted by a neighbor. No other details were available.
