A male motorcyclist died in a traffic collision with a vehicle on Newport Road near Menifee Road Monday night, police reported.
The man, identified as 36-year-old Marco Valencia of San Jacinto, was found in the roadway when first responders arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:17 p.m. The other vehicle rolled multiple times, witnesses told Riverside County Sheriff's Department investigators. Two occupants of that vehicle declined medical attention at the scene.
Alcohol and/or drug impairment do not appear to be a factor in the accident, according to police. Newport Road was closed for several hours at that point during the investigation, which is ongoing.
