Photo of Month contest will resume in September

We appreciate the many photos our readers have sent us of the Holy Fire as seen from Menifee, as well as in answer to our call for "Back to School" photos (which still hasn't happened yet for Romoland schools and Santa Rosa Academy).

Because these have made up the majority of the photos sent to us and many are similar, we will not select one as Photo of the Month this month. However, we will publish some of the best of these photos in our Aug. 15 newspaper. Those who submit Back to School photos next week may have theirs published in the Sept. 1 newspaper

We also are interested in your thoughts and observations about the Holy Fire, its effects on the area and the efforts of firefighters to save homes. If you have a story to tell concerning the fire -- perhaps a personal experience of taking donations, talking to friends who have been evacuated, etc. -- post a comment here or email us at info@menifee247.com. We would like to share those as well.
