Volunteers needed for Letter Carriers Food Drive May 12

Menifee residents can help support the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard by leaving non-perishable food items at their mail delivery location during the 26th Annual National Letter Carriers Food Drive this Saturday, May 12.

Food collected on all Menifee routes, which includes zip codes 92584, 92585, 92586 and 92587, benefits local residents through the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard.

Volunteers are needed to help the Community Cupboard receive the food collected by local letter carriers. More than 100 volunteers are needed the day of the food drive from 2-7 p.m. Those interested may contact the Cupboard

Food items should be set out for pick-up well before your letter carrier's normal pick-up time.

The Cupboard provides assistance to 600 families each month. The organization distributed enough food for more than 200,000 meals last year.
