Paloma Valley NJROTC unit places second in nation

The Navy Junior ROTC unit from Paloma Valley High School accomplished a major feat Saturday, taking second place overall in the NJROTC Nationals in Pensacola, Florida.

Paloma Valley NJROTC placed first in multiple categories, including in the crucial drill category.

The Menifee unit earned the right to compete in the nationals by placing first in the Area 11 Field Meet Feb. 24, beating 16 other units from California and Arizona. Paloma Valley had placed third in the Field Meet the previous three years.

Now, they have joined the ranks of the nation's elite NJROTC units.
