Patriot Olympics fundraiser set for March 23 at Heritage

Heritage High School Key Club will host a community-wide fundraiser for the Aslan Network called the Patriot Olympics on March 23 from 4-9 p.m. in Marion Ashley Stadium at Heritage High.

There will be a total of 21 teams made up of students, athletes, clubs, staff, and School District Board members competing this year. They will be participating in the following games: capture the flag, relay race, tug-of-war, water balloon toss, and chair balance. Admission is free.

There will be tacos, soda, and other refreshments to buy. There will also be carnival games that include ring toss, can knock out, go fish, and spinning wheel. People can also participate in a pie eating contest. Spectators can get their face painted or a henna tattoo.

We will also be honoring two of our very own teachers. Sabrina Rutkoff passed away last month, and now we would like to honor her at the event for being the devoted mother, teacher, and friend that she was. Doug Fairchild was involved in an accident last October and he is still in recovery. We want to honor him for all that he has done for our campus and community.

All the proceeds will go to the Aslan Network. It is a non-profit organization that was started by alumni from Heritage High School that aims to support children in need with medical care, an education, and a home so they can pursue opportunities to better their future.
