GoFundMe site for family of pedestrian killed on Highway 74

A GoFundMe page has been established to raise funds for the family of an 18-year-old woman who died Tuesday night when was struck by two vehicles while trying to cross Highway 74.

Deena Rose Ledesma of Hemet was pronounced dead at the scene about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to a Sheriff's Department report, investigation showed that she tried to cross the highway against a red light at Menifee Road and was struck by two vehicles traveling westbound. Both drivers cooperated with the investigation and neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected as a factor.

According to a family member, Ledesma had just gotten off work at the Arco station on the southeast corner of Menifee Road and Highway 74 and was attempting to cross the street to a bus stop when the accident occurred.

Donations can be made at the GoFundMe site here. As of 2 p.m. Thursday, $2,850 had been raised.
