Death of man found in Menifee home investigated as murder

The death of a man found inside a Menifee residence Monday morning is being investigated as a homicide by the Sheriff's Department, authorities said.

Officers responded at 12:48 a.m. to the report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 27700 block of Monroe Avenue, one block north of Highway 74 in the Romoland community of Menifee. They found a deceased Hispanic male inside the residence. Homicide investigators are now seeking information about a suspect.

The victim's identity has not been released, pending notification of family. No other details were given about the death or any suspects.
