The County Coroner's Office has released the identities of a Menifee woman and Murrieta man who were killed in a single-vehicle accident Saturday night on the 215 Freeway in Murrieta.
Genevieve Hines, 21, and Cade Deardorff, 20, were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on the southbound freeways lanes south of Baxter Road at 8:50 p.m. According to a CHP news release, their 2001 Ford was traveling at an unknown speed when the vehicle made an unsafe turning movement to the right and left the freeway, striking a dirt embankment.
The vehicle rolled over several times and came to rest blocking the No. 2 and 3 lanes of the freeway. Deardorff, the rear passenger, was ejected from the vehicle. Hines was the driver. A female passenger, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
A Sig Alert was in effect until the freeway lanes were cleared at 11:30 p.m. The CHP is conducting an investigation.
