DUI suspected in single-vehicle accident on Scott Road

One man was hospitalized in critical condition after crashing his pickup truck into a light pole in a single-vehicle accident on Scott Road Sunday, police said.

The accident occurred about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Scott Road and Lindenberger Road, Sheriff's Deputy Cail said at the scene. The vehicle was still being inspected by officers at 7 p.m. and a forensics truck was on site to continue the investigation. The eastbound right lane on Scott Road was blocked off.

The truck was traveling eastbound approaching Lindenberger Road when it drifted off to the right and struck a traffic signal light pole on the southeast corner of the intersection, Cail said. Drugs and/or alcohol are suspected as a factor in the accident.

No one else was involved in the accident. The driver was not identified.
