A Perris man was booked on charges of DUI, hit-and-run and possession of narcotics after he fled the scene of a traffic collision Wednesday night, authorities said.
Juan Olvera-Ortega, 24, was involved in an accident when his Ford Expedition collided with a Chrysler Sebring at the intersection of Simpson Road and Lindenberger Road about 5:30 p.m., according to a Sheriff's Department news release. Both vehicles moved off to the side of the road, but Olvera-Ortega left the scene. He was soon located by police officers and arrested.
The suspect was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He had no drivers license and was in possession of narcotics. After being medically cleared at a local hospital, he was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.
Anyone who may have witnessed this collision and has not been interviewed is encouraged to call Officer Cail at the Menifee Police Department, 951-210-1068.

ReplyDeleteYou willingly ingest drugs/ alcohol, get behibd the wheel of a 3-4 ton weapon, and fling yourself at innocent civilians..
Last i checked, that's a thought out crime that often leads to you and I getting hurt. What would a cop have done, had he barreled down on them?
Why do we have to suffer any longer at the hands of these criminals?
