One person killed in crash between van, motorcycle

A Temecula man was killed in a crash involving a van and a motorcycle in Winchester early Sunday evening, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 5:43 p.m. at the intersection of Scott Road and Winchester Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. A motorcyclist was traveling north on Winchester Road at 55-60 mph when he ran a red light at Scott Road. He was struck by a van that entered the intersection on a green light heading westbound on Scott Road.

The vehicles ended up in a dirt field northwest of the intersection. Bystanders attempted to provide aid to the motorcyclist but Jacob Prichard, 35, died at the scene. The driver of the van, 56-year-old Lori Guglielmana of Menifee, was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
