Murrieta Road resurfacing project now complete

The most recent road improvement project completed with Measure DD funds is the resurfacing of Murrieta Road from Rouse Road to Ethanac Road in northwest Menifee.

The project, completed earlier this month, resurfaced approximately one mile of the road and included crack filling, street paving, adjusting utilities and new striping and street signs. This stretch of road is traveled by an average of 7,300 vehicles per day, according to city officials.

"Due to Murrieta Road being so highly traveled, the resurfacing project was a high priority for the City," said Director of Public Works Jonathan Smith. "Thanks to Measure DD, we were able to fund the entire project and we are happy to announce the project’s completion. We are looking forward to continuing to make the transportation improvements that Menifee needs."

Cost of the project was $550,000 and was funded by Measure DD, the one-cent sales tax measure approved by Menifee voters in 2016.
