The suspect killed in an officer-involved shooting in Desert Hot Springs Tuesday has been identified by the Coroner's Office as a Menifee man with an extensive criminal record.
Robo Raikoglo, 30, was identified as the man shot to death by Desert Hot Springs police in a confrontation following a domestic disturbance call in the 13400 block Cielo Azul Way. According to a police department news release, officers responded at 9:15 p.m. to a report of shots fired at a residence. A woman at the scene said her partner assaulted her and fired multiple rounds at her, then fled in his vehicle.
While officers were still at the scene, the suspect returned to the scene. He leaned out of the driver's side window and aimed a gun at the officers, who then fired on the suspect. Raikoglo was treated and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department and the District Attorney's Office are conducting an investigation into the incident.
According to court records, Raikoglo had previous convictions for being a felon in possession of a weapon, grand theft and DUI, among other crimes.
