A Menifee man police say robbed a juvenile of his bicycle at a busy Menifee intersection has been arrested and booked for strong-arm robbery, authorities said.
Jarmal Allen Rollins, 19, was contacted Wednesday at his residence in the 29000 block of Camino Cristal, where Sheriff's investigators recovered the stolen bike from the suspect's garage. Rollins was booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta with bail set at $30,000.
According to a news release, a 17-year-old male juvenile was stopped at the intersection of Newport Road and Antelope Road at 4:20 p.m. on Monday, waiting for a green light. While he was stopped, the passenger of a passing vehicle jumped out of the car, threatened to shoot the juvenile and stole his bicycle.
The juvenile was unharmed but visibly shaken, police said. According to the news release, the investigating officer purchased a replacement bike for the boy before the stolen bike was recovered. The case was turned over to officers in the Menifee Police Burglary Suppression Team. They tracked down Rollins and made the arrest.
