A Hemet man died Friday when his vehicle rear-ended a service truck that was striping the slow lane of the 15 Freeway near Rancho California, according to a CHP report.

The Coroner's Office identified the man as Salvador Vasquez, 34. According to the CHP, he was traveling northbound in the No. 4 lane at 80 mph about 2 a.m. when he failed to slow for a Peterbuilt 220 truck that had its directional arrows on as a warning to motorists. Vasquez's Nissan Sentra crashed into the back of the truck, which was driven by Andrew Martinez, 34, of Menifee. Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Martinez was not injured.
