Resident pleads for caution with guns after bullet hits car

A Menifee resident posted the above photo on social media and reminded residents about the importance of gun safety, including firing shots into the air.

The resident told Menifee 24/7 she woke up Sunday morning in the Heritage Lake community to find a bullet hole in her car. Not knowing the source of the gunshot and imagining what could've happened was unnerving to her.

"Please post this," she wrote. "People need to realize that what goes up, comes down. This bullet could have hit something. Our residents need to know this and be reminded."

The woman said the bullet hit sometime after 9 p.m. on Saturday. From the angle the bullet entered the car and factoring in the trajectory, she assumes it came from the direction of southern Menifee.
