Female pedestrian injured when struck by vehicle

A portion of the roadway was shut down for several hours Monday night for the investigation into a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian near the intersection of McCall Boulevard and Sun City Boulevard, authorities said.

The accident occurred around 5 p.m., according to Sheriff's deputy Michael Vasquez. A small pickup truck struck a female pedestrian, who was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The condition of the woman has not been updated.

The driver remained on scene and was cooperative. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor, Vasquez said.
