Santa Rosa Academy's football team lost to Calvary Murrieta 43-12 Saturday night at Heritage High.
The Calvary Murrieta Warriors scored a touchdown and completed a PAT in the last few minutes of the first quarter. Shortly after, the Rangers’ Connor Dougherty scored a touchdown with only a few seconds on the clock, but the PAT was no good, making the score 7-6.
In the second quarter, another touchdown was made by the Warriors, followed by a completed PAT. The Warriors also scored a field goal to take a 17-6 lead.
The Rangers’ Andrew Snyder was injured in the third quarter and had to sit out the rest of the game. The Warriors’ Blake Geston scored a touchdown, but the PAT was no good. Another touchdown was made by Calvary Murrieta, this time with a completed PAT, making the score 30-6.
Dougherty scored the second touchdown for Santa Rosa Academy. The Rangers went in for the two-point conversion, but it was no good. The Warriors then made a touchdown, but the PAT was no good again, leaving the score 36-12 by the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, another touchdown was made by Calvary Murrieta, and the PAT was complete. The Rangers (3-2-1) have an away game on Friday at 7 p.m. against Rancho Christian.
