The Class of 2017 inductees into the Mt. San Jacinto College Hall of Fame will be honored at a ceremony Oct. 21 as part of the college’s Homecoming weekend.
The inductees include men’s basketball player Troy Truvillion, women’s basketball player Britney Iredale and the members of the 1982 baseball team.
Truvillion was a first-team all-state player for the 1988 men’s basketball team that won the conference championship and finished with a 28-6 record. He later starred at Eastern Montana University and played 11 professional seasons in Australia and Europe. After his playing days were over, he served the youth of Arizona by working for Youth Development Services and TruSeven Sports.
Iredale was a leader of the 2007 women’s basketball team that won the first conference title in the program’s history and scored its first postseason victory. She was conference Player of the Year and earned first-team all-state honors. She later played at Upper Iowa University. She works in law enforcement in Arizona.
The 1982 baseball team advanced all the way to the California Community College Division II championship game. It was just the second team in school history to play for a state title.
Also honored that day will be Charles Silvas, a former coach at MSJC and longtime supporter of the athletic department. He will receive the President’s Award.
The inductees will be honored at halftime of the 1 p.m. Homecoming game against Southwestern College. A formal induction ceremony will take place that evening.
