Heritage High School Athletes of the Week: Oct. 31

Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor outstanding athletes at area high schools. Each coach of a sport in season is allowed to select one athlete per week as Athlete of the Week. Here are this week's honorees from Heritage High School:

James Phillips ran for three touchdowns, including an 80-yard TD run, in the football team's 60-7 victory over Temescal Canyon. The Patriots will play Paloma Valley for the Sunbelt League title Friday night.

Kayla Vinson and Taylor Freedland of the girls golf team recently qualified for Day 2 of the Sunbelt League Finals at Pala Mesa Country Club. Vinson shot a first-round score of 109 and Freedland shot 114.
