Santa Rosa teacher, teammates win softball world title

Ted Badillo, a teacher at Santa Rosa Academy in Menifee, was a member of a Southland team that recently won a senior softball world championship.

Badillo is a member of the Ontario-based Lights Out, a team in the AA Division (50-60 age group) that competed in the Las Vegas Senior Softball Association/Senior Softball USA World Masters Championship Sept. 22-24. The team beat the No. 1 and No. 2 nationally ranked team and defeated a team from New Mexico in 11 innings for the championship.
