Menifee resident Ken Stetson parked his van in front of the Veterans Memorial in Wheatfield Park Friday, displaying his own American flag and expressions of appreciation for the military and law enforcement.
Stetson was in the news last week when he sat in his wheel chair on the corner of Newport Road and Haun Road, displaying items of tribute to members of the military and law enforcement. He said he stationed himself at the Veterans Memorial Friday in honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
Stetson said he is not a veteran but wants to show his support for military, police and fire personnel. He has recorded a song entitled "America My Home" and gives away copies of his CD. He also accepts donations, which are forwarded to veterans or law enforcement groups in need.
As of 3 p.m. Friday, Stetson said he planned to stay at the Veterans Memorial for several hours. For questions about his CD and donations, call 951-566-6980.
