Firefighters needed about two hours to contain a brush fire to 35 acres in Homeland Friday night, officials said.

The fire was reported at 6:01 p.m. and was contained at 8:13 p.m. in the area of Highway 74 and Melba Avenue. Eighty five firefighters from 12 engine companies responded. No injuries were reported.
