The residents of the Sun Meadows mobile home park in Menifee have been donating canned, boxed and non-perishable supplies every week to the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard since its inception in 1998. When the Community Cupboard was first formed, it was called the Menifee Valley Grange. Aline Monica, a resident of Sun Meadows, is one of the founding members. She has been actively organizing and participating in gathering the donations for the past 19 years.
The residents of Sun Meadows donate an average of 100-200 pounds of food every week to the Community Cupboard. The exception to that is the annual 4th of July barbecue. It has become tradition for the residents of Sun Meadows to give an extra big push for the 4th of July holiday. This 4th of July, they gathered and delivered to the Community Cupboard 500 pounds of food items in support of our local community.
Over the years, Aline Monica has expanded her group of volunteers to include Hugh Mudd, Grant Yoders, Mary Smith and Joe Duffy. These volunteers have done an amazing job to keep the spirit of giving alive and well in Menifee. Their dedication and unwavering acts of kindness each week are commendable, to say the least.
