A Menifee man was booked on a felony DUI charge after a vehicle he was driving struck a bicyclist on a city street Monday afternoon, authorities said.
Justin Badger, 37, was booked at Southwest Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bail and faces charges of felony DUI and causing bodily injury to another person. He was determined to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
According to a Sheriffs Department news release, his Jeep Cherokee struck a male bicyclist near the 30000 block of San Rafael Street in Menifee about 2 p.m., causing non-left threatening injuries to the head and lower extremities of the victim.
Badger had prior arrests for DUI and was driving with a suspended driver's license. The bicyclist was not identified.
