Riverside County Sheriff's deputies on May 19 arrested a man believed to be responsible for two robberies in Menifee, authorities said on Monday.
Raul Hernandez, 51, was identified May 18 as the suspect in an April 22 robbery of the Papa John's Pizza parlor in the 30000 block of Antelope Road and a May 13 robbery of the McDonald's restaurant in the 28000 block of Bradley Road, according to a news release. Investigators located evidence linking Hernandez to robberies in Murrieta and Riverside as well. A warrant for his arrest was issued.
On May 19, officers located Hernandez and his vehicle within the Menifee city limits. He was arrested without incident and his vehicle was seized for further investigation. Hernandez was booked at Southwest Detention Center for several counts of armed robbery. Bail was set at $1 million. A search of the suspect vehicle on Monday recovered further evidence linking him to the crimes.
Hernandez is accused of robbing the Papa John's Pizza parlor about 10:55 p.m. on April 22. A search of the area failed to locate him. The suspect also escaped after the May 13 McDonald's robbery, which occurred at 10:50 p.m.
Hernandez's city of residence was not reported.
