Each week, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Paloma Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's honorees from Paloma Valley:
Tennis player Braeden DeLeon fought back from a 4-1 deficit in his singles match of a recent playoff match with Fontana Kaiser. Despite the enthusiastic efforts of his opponent to hold him off, DeLeon won the set, 7-5.
Noah Raia won the Sunbelt League boys golf title by 7 strokes over his closest competitor at Morongo Golf Club. The next week he competed in the CIF individual tournament at Rancho California Golf Club in Murrieta and fell just short of making the section finals.
