An 82-year-old Menifee man was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence of alcohol -- the fourth arrest of a motorist for DUI in Menifee following a traffic accident in less than two weeks.
Frank Gattuso, driving a 2002 Toyota pickup truck, made a left turn in front of a 2014 Chevy and the vehicles collided at the intersection of Bradley Road and Chambers Avenue in north Menifee at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to a Sheriff's Department news release. Neither Gattuso nor the 54-year-old driver of the other vehicle were injured. Traffic was diverted around the accident scene for about 45 minutes.
Gattuso was found to be in possession of an alcoholic beverage and was determined to be impaired by alcohol. He was transported to the Perris Sheriff's station.
On May 18, a Murrieta woman was arrested for DUI after her vehicle collided with the center median on Newport Road at 1:43 a.m. She was cited and released pending a Sept. 29 court date.
A Menifee woman was arrested twice for DUI vehicle collisions, on May 17 and May 21. She is out on bail pending a July 14 court date.
