Each week, Menifee 24/7 honors Athletes of the Week from Paloma Valley High School, as selected by their coaches. Here are this week's honorees:
Representing the boys volleyball team is James Karwin, whose team is 21-6 overall and undefeated in league play." James has been great for us all season," said coach Katie Bradley. "He is our setter and the mastermind behind our offense. James does a great job mixing up the offense and giving our hitters the best opportunity to score points for our team."
Braeden DeLeon is co-captain of the boys tennis team and "has played a big part in making the Paloma Valley Wildcats the 2017 Sunbelt League Champions," said coach Reagan Williams. "Braeden is part of a singles players group that leads the team with an 82 percent win percentage in Sunbelt League play."
Aysia Davis is a sophomore competing in track for the first time. She recently competed at the Inland Empire Championships, where she medaled in the 100 meters by lowering her personal best of 13.28 to a heat-winning time of 12.90. In the 200, she improved her PR of 27.91 by over a full second, winning her heat with a time of 26.80.
Lorie Stuart is a sophomore swimmer who set a school record in the 100 backstroke and was a member of the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay that made CIF qualifying times at the Chino Hills Invitational.
