Members of Menifee Crime Watch were honored by the Menifee City Council March 1 with a proclamation thanking them for their service.
Volunteers serve the community by patrolling the city in Crime Watch cars, reporting suspicious incidents to police. They also help with traffic control and security at crime scenes and man dispatch radios at their office, located at 27851 Bradley Road, Suite 190.
"They do a wonderful job in getting out to the communities and watching out for all of us," Mayor Neil Winter said in presenting certificates of appreciation to Crime Watch Board of Directors members. "I hear from a lot of residents asking what they can do to help keep their neighborhoods safe, and I tell them to get involved with Crime Watch."
Menifee Police Chief Brandon Ford also took part in the presentation.
"The police are the public and the public are the police," Ford said. "We truly are one team and one mission and we can't complete that mission without you. Thank you so much for standing with us to suppress crime."
Menifee Crime Watch is always recruiting new volunteers. For more information, call 951-679-7031.
