Three people were booked on a variety of charges including mail theft and illegal firearms possession after the search of residences in Perris and Nuevo on Friday, police said.
During a mail theft and fraud investigation, Riverside County Sheriff's Department detectives contacted three subjects at a residence in the 20000 block of Santa Rosa Mine Road in Perris. They discovered stolen checks and credit cards and property from several car burglaries in Perris and Menifee. Also located were personal profiles containing information such as victims' names, date of birth, address, Social Security numbers and credit card numbers.
There was evidence that the suspects had already used some personal profiles to establish lines of credit in the victims' names, according to a press release.
Following a lead, detectives also conducted a probation search of a residence in the 22000 block of Palomar Road in Nuevo. They located mail, checks and credits cards stolen from more than 50 victims, primarily from Menifee, Hemet and Perris.
Three individuals were arrested and booked at Southwest Detention Center on the following charges:
-- Martin Guevara, 33, of Perris was booked for being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition and methamphetamine.
-- Eduardo Rodriguez, 42, of Nuevo was booked for mail theft.
-- Marielena Villareal, 23, of Nuevo was booked for multiple counts of felony identity theft.
Deputies will also seek to file felony check fraud charges against Sherry Brennan, 34, of Nuevo. She is in custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center on unrelated charges.
The investigation is on-going. Anyone with questions or pertinent information involving this case should contact Deputy Ortiz or Deputy Frank at the Perris Sheriff Station at 951-210-1000, or by email at PerrisStation@RiversideSheriff.org.
