Paloma Valley High Athletes of the Week: Feb. 4

Each week, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Paloma Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. We apologize for the tardiness of this announcement. Here are honorees from Paloma Valley from last week:

Junior wrestler Blaine Matthews had a big day at the Sunbelt League finals. He battled in the most exciting match of the finals to win 13-12 and become a league champion.

Freshman girls wrestler Maya Cruz had her best weekend of the season in the final tournament of the season. At Montclair, she made the semifinals and finished in third place. She helped the team finish as runner-up in the team standings.

Alyssa Moore has played a key role for the girls soccer team, which is 14-4-2 overall and 8-1-1 in league play.

Junior guard Brady Bouman is improving consistently for the boys basketball team.
