Each week, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Paloma Valley High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are honorees from Paloma Valley:
Miriam Mota has played a leadership role for the girls soccer team, which is headed to the CIF playoffs after posting a 9-1 record in league play (15-4-2 overall). "Miriam had a great game against Perris and hasn't missed a beat all season," coach Carlos Alfaro said. "See carried us the first part of the season with her offense."
Kassandra Ayard of the girls wrestling team placed at the CIF Eastern Regionals as a freshman in a very tough weight class, qualifying her for the CIF Southern Section finals.
Donald Green went 2-0 at the CIF Eastern Division Duals. As a senior, he helped lead the team to an upset win of No. 7 La Quinta.
