Firefighters at Station 7 in the Sun City community in Menifee were honored with a proclamation by the Menifee City Council on Feb. 15, expressing appreciation for their service to the community.
Mayor Neil Winter told the audience that Fire Station 7 was the busiest station in Riverside County last year, responding to 5,388 emergency calls -- an average of more than 14 per day. The majority of those were medical aid calls in the area, which is primarily a senior community. That total was 689 more than the second busiest station in the county.
The station was represented by Battalion Chief Josh Bischof, Fire Captain Brent Carter and firefighter Jesse DoFelmire, fire apparatus engineer.
Fire Station 7 is located on Bradley Road just north of McCall Boulevard, next to Interstate 215. It will be relocated to a new site currently under construction at Bradley Road and Cherry Hills Boulevard.
