Basketball player Justice Dunlap and wrestler Marisa Charoensri have been named Menifee 24/7 Athletes of the Month from Paloma Valley High School for the month of January.
Dunlap, a senior guard for the boys basketball team, averaged 8 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals per game for the Wildcats. He drew high praise from his coach, Michael Pfeiffer.
"Justice is a defensive specialist," Pfeiffer said. "He locks down the opposing team's best player. In addition, Justice is a solid rebounder. He's always around the ball and trying to make a play. He is very coachable and looking to always improve his game, on and off the court. "
Wrestling coach Luis Robles had similar praise for Charoensri, who placed at every tournament she competed in this season, appearing in the finals twice.
"Marisa has had an absolutely amazing season," Robles said. "She is an amazing student with an outstanding GPA and an all-around great human being. She qualified for CIF finals. Marisa in one year became the hardest working athlete I have ever coached in my career."
