Two Mead Valley men arrested Friday on a variety of charges were discovered with more than 800 pieces of mail stolen from 267 victims, including residents of Menifee, authorities said.
Members of the Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement Teams made the discovery while conducting a probation search at a residence in the 20000 block of Markham Street in Mead Valley, an unincorporated area of Perris, according to a news release. Deputies also found over 100 "personal profiles," containing victims' personal information such as names, date of birth, address, Social Security numbers and credit card numbers.
Mail stolen from Menifee, Mead Valley, Moreno Valley, Riverside and other area cities were recovered. In addition, deputies located a sawed-off shotgun, loaded rifle, stolen off-road motorcycle, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Jerold "Kenny" Alford, 53 (left), was arrested as an ex-felon in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition. Silottakone Chanthavong, 39, was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of an expandable baton, possession of methamphetamine, and violation of probation. They were booked at the Southwest Detention Center.
